Kennon Vaughan

Lead Pastor, Harvest Church

In 2006, Kennon founded Downline Ministries, which seeks to encourage a restoration of biblical discipleship in and through the local church. Downline was initially embraced by eleven local churches in Memphis, and in its inaugural year, 30 students were trained. Now seven years later, there are over forty churches in the Memphis community that utilize the Downline Institute as a means of equipping their lay leadership to make disciples, and over 1200 lay leaders who have been trained in the Institute. There are also live Downline Institutes in Little Rock, NW Arkansas, SW Georgia, and Atlanta, along with online communities around the English speaking world where many more are gathering to receive the Downline training.

Over the past 7 years while serving at Downline, Kennon has felt the slow and steady “tug” of the Holy Spirit towards the pastorate, and specifically towards church planting, as he has become increasingly burdened by the near 700,000 non-churched people in the greater Memphis area, and increasingly convinced that the planting of more Gospel-preaching churches filled with Christ-followers who make disciples is the great hope of our city, and our world.  He now serves as the lead pastor of Harvest Church in Memphis.
